Masterpiece

Series Overview
"Fearfully" & "Wonderfully"...these are two words David uses to describe the way in which God creates each one us. Amazing isn't it? Just think...the Creator of all things knows every distinct detail of your life that makes you, well, you! So why don't we marvel at this fact more often? Ephesians 2:10 says that "we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." We were fearfully and wonderfully created by God's design for His glory. But something got in the way of that purpose...something that has us striving for hollow replacements.
Our culture has bombarded us with a message that tells us we aren't good enough. And if we aren't careful, we will begin to fall into this trap of comparison- "If only I looked like that...", "If I had just a little more...", "If, If, If..." With comparison comes fear, guilt, pride, and a whole host of other "dead weights" that keep us from living the purposes He designed for our lives- to be Masterpieces for His glory.
Parents, we want to encourage you to follow along with what we are teaching on Sunday nights. We have created introductions and a follow up discussion question to each of our "Masterpiece" teaching series topics, for you to implement at home with your son or daughter. We encourage you to answer these questions along with your son or daughter. The key to your home becoming a place of authenticity and growth is you!

Session 1: "Created"- November 7
There are approximately 490,000 babies born everyday around the world. Almost 6.8 billion people call planet earth their home. These are staggering numbers! And if we are not careful, we can easily forget the insanely amounts of detail that go into each one of our lives! The most amazing thing? Scripture tells us that God knows every detail of our lives before one of them takes place.
Parent Cue: Read Psalm 139 together. How do you react to knowing that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator of all things?

Session 2: "Chiseled"- November 14
Comparison...it's a deadly game that we often get caught playing in the midst of our everyday lives. But what if God, in His design of you and me, had a greater plan for our lives. What if we were never created to compare ourselves to one another, but rather we were created to reflect His Son into the world?
Parent Cue: Where do you tend to compare? Looks? Finances? Amounts of "Stuff"? Parenting Styles? Etc? Read Ephesians 2:8-10. Why were we created? What is our purpose? Where does God need to "chisel" you, in order for you to become more like His original design for your life- His Masterpiece?
